DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ASHGABAT — THE WHITE MARBLE CITY
Namaste and welcome to Turkmenistan. Arrive at Ashgabat International Airport in the early morning hours (01:50 hours), where the stunning falcon-wing-shaped terminal welcomes you in traditional Turkmen style. After immigration and customs clearance, meet your local tour representative and transfer to Hotel Mizan 3-star, where early check-in has been arranged for your comfort as per Indian travel standards. After some rest, enjoy breakfast at the hotel and relax until afternoon to recover from the overnight journey.
Post-lunch, begin your Ashgabat sightseeing tour. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Monument to Magtymguly Pyragy, Independence Monument, Neutrality Arch, Ertugrul Gazi Mosque (inspired by Istanbul’s Blue Mosque), Yyldyz Hotel, Wedding Palace and Kipchak Mosque. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a traditional Turkmen restaurant, followed by a panoramic night tour of the capital, showcasing the illuminated white-marble buildings that give Ashgabat its title as the world’s whitest city. Return to the hotel for your overnight.
NOTE: Due to the time difference and early arrival, mild fatigue is expected — Rest accordingly for a smooth experience.
DAY 2: ASHGABAT — GEOKDEPE — NISA — DARVAZA CRATER
After breakfast at the hotel, set off on a day of history — Heritage and desert adventure. Begin with an excursion to Geokdepe, the historic fortress that witnessed the Turkmen resistance against Russian forces. Visit the Saparmurat Hajji Mosque and the Geokdepe National Museum, with photo stops and panoramic views of this culturally significant area. Next, continue to Nisa — A UNESCO World Heritage Site and explore the ruins of Old Nisa, the ancient capital of the Parthian Empire, filled with archaeological wonders.
In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling desert journey to the legendary Darvaza Gas Crater — Known as the Gates of Hell, by 4x4 jeeps across the Karakum Desert. Arrive by evening to witness the surreal sight of the burning crater, a natural gas fire that has been ablaze for decades. Experience an unforgettable desert night in traditional Turkmen yurts, enjoying a bonfire dinner with authentic shashlik — Fresh lavash and local tea. The evening offers perfect conditions for stargazing and storytelling beneath the desert sky.

DAY 3: DARVAZA — MARY — ANCIENT CITY OF MERV (UNESCO SITE)
Begin your day with a picnic breakfast in the desert before heading southward to Mary via the modern Turkmen Autobahn highway. Upon arrival, explore Merv — A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest and most important cities along the Silk Road. Wander through the remains of multiple ancient cities including Erk-kala, Gyaur-kala, Sultan-kala, Abdullah Khan-kala and Abdullah Khan-tepe, each reflecting a unique era in Central Asian history. Marvel at the fortified walls — Ancient citadels and archaeological treasures that reveal centuries of trade — Conquest and spiritual heritage.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Turkmen cultural show with folk music — Local dances and colorful costumes, followed by a local-style Turkmen dinner. Transfer to Mary City, check in at your hotel and relax overnight.
DAY 4: MARY — TURKMEN ALABAI BREEDING CENTRE — ASHGABAT
After breakfast, depart from Mary and return to Ashgabat via the Autobahn highway. En route, stop at the famous Turkmen Alabai Dog Centre, where you will learn about the Alabai breed — A symbol of national pride and loyalty. Get close to these powerful dogs and capture memorable photos. A light lunch will be served at the center. Back in Ashgabat, continue your city exploration with a visit to the Turkmen Carpet Museum, home to an exquisite collection of handwoven masterpieces, followed by a tour of the National Museum of Turkmenistan, which spans over 5,000 years of history. Drive through the White Marble City, admiring its wide boulevards — Modern architecture and national monuments.
Later, visit the bustling Russian Bazaar, a perfect spot for picking up souvenirs, spices, dried fruits and local handicrafts. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at a popular national restaurant, featuring Turkmen dishes like pilaf, manti, shurpa and more. Overnight at Sport Hotel 4-star in Ashgabat.
DAY 5: FREE TIME — MODERN ASHGABAT EXPLORATION — FAREWELL
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and some free time until 11:30 AM to relax or explore on your own. You may also choose to visit Berkarar Mall, one of the city’s modern shopping centers, for last-minute shopping or casual browsing. Lunch is at your own discretion with options to try international cuisine or local food courts. Later, transfer to Ashgabat International Airport for your return flight. Bid farewell to the land of white marble — Ancient cities and desert adventures, leaving with unforgettable memories of Turkmenistan.
